Quality Musical instruments are always painted using only Nitrocellulose Lacquer and can be polished to a glass shine. This helps to maintain the sonic qualities of the wood.

Note: Guitars Painted in Urethane are more durable, but their sound is dampened like a wet blanket with each additional coat of Urethane (Rubber).

Nitrocellulose Lacquer is used by Fender, Gibson, Yamaha, Jackson and other top brands because of it's sonic qualities. It is hard like wood and often "crazes" over the years. It was originally designed by Dupont® for Henry Ford® to paint his Model T's & is still used today to paint Rolls Royces, Yamaha® Pianos, Top Brand Guitars & Airbrush Art.
